Let there be light

Let there be light

Natural light floods into the previously dark recesses of this six-bedroom 1920s home, which has survived the Christchurch earthquakes.

A well deserved finish for Graeme Jacobs Architecture, Paul Reed Homes, OD Plastering, and all others involved for winning the The Registered Master Builders House of the Year, SafetyMate Renovations over $500,000 in Canterbury, achieving the Gold Award, Local Category Winner, Local Supreme Winner and Gold Reserve Awards.

This renovation has created a safe, dry and warm environment for years of family living. The challenging project involved replacing all linings and services, underpinning, and burrowing into the hillside to create additional space. Great care has been taken to keep the home's original character inside and out with structural engineering solutions utilising concrete, steel and timber to restored this old girl to her former glory.

The StoStucco Reclad System with a pebble-dash (rough-cast) finish meeting the heritage requirements for refurbishing this exterior facade, incorporates a stainless steel welded lath fixed over cavity battens, providing an extremely strong yet flexible base for the render system to interlock with. Moulded to suit the shape and curvature for timber framed builds the StoStucco system is a perfect solution for new or existing projects.
